The creators behind Sketchup, Tirmble, have developed a mixed media application that allows designers to experience and refine their designs through Microsoft HoloLens’ hologram projections.
Greg Lynn’s proposal for the U.S Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, has been used as a prototype and he states that,"Trimble mixed-reality technology and Microsoft HoloLens bring the design to life and bridge the gap between the digital and physical. Using this technology I can make decisions at the moment of inception, shorten the design cycle and improve communication with my clients”.
The application also has the capacity to be be modified by other project consultants, including engineers and interior designers in real time. The flexibility of the software permits the augmentation of the scale, shape and positioning of detail elements, revolutionizing the design process in an efficient and visceral way.
